Butler 10 North Meck 2

Butler defeats North Meck 10 - 2 at North Meck. Matthew Baltimore goes 6 strong in his first start of the season. I believe Matt only gave up 3 or four hits in his 6 innings. Mitch Rawlings closed out the seventh. Butlers bats made the most of their opportunities getting timely hits and rbi's when needed. AJ Larson continued his hit attack with two hits including turning a routine double into a triple. Eisenbath had two hits and had a nasty collision with the first baseman trying to short hop a low throw in the third. Both players were down for a short time before the first baseman left the game.
Tough luck goes to Ryan Hodge who hit 3 seeds on the evening for outs.
Butler faces East Meck (both 2-0 in conference) Friday at Butler. The game will be Webcast on TBRPreps.

 

Cox Mill 5 McDonogh MD 4

Cox Mill bounced back from last night's tough road loss with a 5 - 4 come from behind victory in their last at bat over McDonogh - Maryland. The Chargers evened their 2010 record at 3 - 3. Cox Mill got solid pitching from D.J. Smith, Austin Fox, Robert Erdie, Travis Watkins & Marshall Keyes ( who got the win ). Tomorrow is the rematch with Hickory Ridge at 4:00 pm at Cox Mill.

 

Was you at the game? This is not the forum to be calling kids out, that would be another one, everyone here at TBR notes fine performances by a standout player...whether its for or against.

 

How did Weddington look? In the scrimmage game I saw, they are loaded.

 

Steps off the basketball court and starts the season giving up 1 run in 13 innings, the kid is amazing.

 

Strong team at all points. Even though Hickory Ridge started a pitcher from the j.v. in a 12 to 2 loss Weddington has few weak spots in their lineup from top to bottom.

Hickory Ridge over Cox Mill 16 to 7. Blake Sides gets the win and Jarrod Brown hit 2 home runs for the Bulls. Mount Pleasant next week.

 

Butler 7 East Meck 1

Butler defeats East Meck 7-1 at Butler. Butlers offense was lead by catcher Aaron Bevis's 3-3 night including a 2 out, 2 run triple in the 5th to put the game out of reach. Chase Gehringer was also 3-3 with a double to deep center. Brandon McWhirter cruised to his 3 win of the season pitching a strong 6 innings, striking out 9 and walking 2. Brandon got out of a bases loaded, no out jam in the 6th by striking out 2 and forcing a ground out to second. Dalton Eisenbath closed the 7th with 3 up 3 down. Ryan Hodge provided web gem in first diving in hole and getting force at second to end inning with 2 on. Butler faces AK at Butler on Tuesday.

A ten inning game that could have gone either way. Those are the kind of games that you feel like you owe someone some more money for admission. Hats off to the Tigers.
