    weyco....you obviously play a lot of golf.......

    weyco, you remind me of a guy who plays golf every saturday, but on the first tee always says he has not played in two years and even then shot over a hundred.

    After Regular Season:

    SPC #1 Seed: Northwest (13-1)
    SPC #2 Seed: Hickory Ridge (10-4)
    SPC #3 Seed: Mount Pleasant (9-5)
    SPC #4 Seed: Robinson (9-5)

    MP and Robinson split during regular season but MP gets tie breaker over Robinson due to MP having a win against Northwest

    Because its one and done, the state playoffs is not necessarily about who you play,,, but its about HOW you play on that one day. A break or 2 don't hurt either. As we all know, what makes baseball so great (and sometimes very frustrating) is that a .500 team can have one good pitcher who has a good day and they can beat a better team.

    Biggest 1st round upset I can remember past few years was about 2002 when East Rowan was loaded with 3 future pros (Spencer Steedley-Twins, Cal Hayes Jr-Cardinals and Bobby Parnell-Mets). East was deep at pitching, Drew Davis-Elon was behind the plate, and their starting 9 led Rowan Legion to state championship later that same summer. East Rowan got beat in 1st round of HS playoffs that year 1-0 to a #3 or #4 seed (believe it was Parkwood).

    With that said, in 2011 I still say NW Cabarrus and East Rowan are best 2 teams in 3A West. But its one and done til you get to the semis so anything can happen.

    Cox Mill and Central split in the regular season so, if Cox Mill beats NW Cab will they get the fifth playoff spot??

    I think if Cox Mill and Central tie it would go to Cox Mill because they would have a win over Northwest??? Also Brody walked 3 and gave up 3 hits all doubles last night.

    Thanks knuckles. How did Barbee do? He has a strong arm and hits the ball well. Has he been on varsity all season?
