i have had many from playing wiffle ball in the back yard, to dad coming home and hitting with us and throwing with us. i still can here, "drop your apron", "can of corn", "sunday hop" in his booming voice. boy where those the days...

i have many of playing little league, big league, high school, college, and from coaching for 20+ years. (conferences titles, against the russian army team, state games etc)

but ONE of my fondest memories is going to visit my oldest brother at cape kennedy and then going to the first ever exhibition game of the kansas city royals. imagine to my suprise when a gentleman comes into the stands before the game and ask my brother and me to drag bats for the kc royals team. we got several broken bats and baseballs from that game (later used to hit world series homeruns in the back yard and eventually lost) along with learning a few new cuss words, ha ha

when we where ask to come back the next day, my mom rminded my brother and me we where suppose to go to disney world the next day .................. we still haven't been to disney world.

i was blessed with sports minded parents that encouraged us to play and supported every team we played for. i think about them everytime i get on the field to coach.

my only regret is that my dad died before he got to see me become a high school head coach.

I was coaching a coach-pitch team wayyy back.... a kid on the other team had to run to the bathroom.. we still played on because everyone was on the field at the same time anyway...
Watching the kid come running back he had toilet tissue hanging out his baseball uniform.... it was funny....
But the same kid wasnt a good ball player or didnt play but a year or 2 after that but got a full academic ride in music to UNC... just sayin...

Another kid i coached on a rec team maybe 14 or 15.... i noticed he wasnt paying alot attention so one day i asked him while we were just sitting there in the dug-out... Anthony i said ... what do you want to be when you grow up and finish college.. Anthony replied .. I want to be SuperMan.... :wtf23:
i asked myself..../. but this kid went on to get a good paying job, family and didnt ever play baseball again...

One of a good baseball memory came a few years ago..I was coaching my 14u Intimidator team...Wade Moore, Tate Bryant, and a few other well known players... Well were were playing up in a 15u tournament... We were down by 4 runs with 1 out in the bottom of the 7th inning.. Coaching 3rd i went to my batters and told them .. this is what you have waited on all your life as a baseball player... bases loaded and you represent the winning run etc... i did that for the next 4 batters.... each one changing the scenario for how it would fit... Finally were tied 2 out bases loaded...i talk to my batter while the other team changes pitchers... As i'm saying to my batter this is what you dream about all your life... being the hero and winning the game.. His Grin was so big i could barely keep a straight face while talking to him... This player got behind 0-2 real quick.. battled a bit and got a few balls , fouled a few off.. now its 3-2 count and i'm all but beggin for something.. with runners in motion for the upteenth time my batter hits the highest one hopper to second .. by the time it gets there my runners have advanced and the lead run has crossed the plate but the batter has yet to reach first.... i thought it was going to be an easy out but the second baseman had timed his jump wrong and all runners were safe....It was one of the most memorable games we ever won.. btw... that was the Championship game... We won a championship in a class above our own....
