    I agree. Even the very best pitchers, softball and baseball, are not perfect in placing a pitch on the money 100% of the time. Yes speed is important. It sets up the offspeed pitch the same way a football team on offense runs the ball to set up their passing game. Speed, effective movement up /down + insde/out, will dominate some but not all hitters. However, add throwing a commanding offspeed pitch that disrupts timing is tough to beat.
