Now if Area IV throws their #4 or 5....wouldnt that just be bad if High Point just bit them in the butt and won that game??

The way legion has been going this year it would not surprise me that a big crowd show up to watch the game then High Point forfeit.

Obviously, there's been some question about seeding teams at past state tournaments, so really the fairest way would be just simply draw the matchups out of a hat at the coache's meeting, right there in front of everyone,,,, then all these "dodging" comments wouldn't exist...

Well I don't think any area should get the cake walk team each year.It should be alternated with each area getting the host team every four years. That's the only fair way to do it.

Also I don't think those kids from High Point should be forced to play.If they don't want to play they should just take the last two remaining teams standing in Area III....just like the other three areas.

    Garner vs. Durham

Durham defeated Roxboro Post 138 last night. After being down 2-1 in the series the Durham Post defeated the Roxboro Post 138 in the last two games. Unfortunatly for Roxboro they ran out of pitching which has been hampered all year by two of there best pitchers being sidelined all season due to injuries.

Durham will now face Garner in the next round and I beleive the first game is this Friday Night at Garner. Could be a good series but I have to give the edge to Garner and there pitching staff. Both teams are very strong at the plate and swing the bats well. Good luck to all!!!

    Area 1 East Championship
Pitt County Post 39 vs. Edenton

    Area 1 West Championship
Garner Post 232 vs. Durham Post 7

I believe both series start tomorrow evening.

    Host Team

The host team is actually playing the Area I champion in the 4th game on the first day of the state tournament. So I guess the conspiracy theory will have to change to the reason the Area IV teams get to play the first 2 games of the day. Any ideas anybody? Does the Commissioner want them to play early so they don't have to play in the heat? I'm sure you guys can come up with some far fetched reason.

About time Area IV commissioner plays fair. Does anyone remember Fayetteville in 2003. Cherryville gets the host team (Hope Mills) in the first round (like they needed help) missing K-towns Ace (Zack Ward 3rd ROUND PICK by the Reds) due to having to pitch in K-towns first game against a solid Snow Hill team, Cherryville and K-town met in the 2nd game with K-town getting there Ace ( Mason) but anyway. Good luck to all and check Garner , hope they are legal this year and not like 2004. DId someone say stacked deck??
