    Do you dare?

4A-West Forsyth (Pope finally pulls it off)
3A-Northeast Guilford (can't stand that Lawing fellow)
2A-East Rutherford (student of Jones maybe?)
1A-Cherryville (darn how does that fellow Jones pull it off?)

P.S. West has AGAIN proved their strength the last decade over the eastern schools!!!!
Have fun with these Dads and players (oops Moms)

The west has only won 2 of the last 10 state championships at the 4A level.

I would say the South Meck is the team to beat in the west. JH Rose and Hoggard are the teams to beat in the east.

In the playoffs, ANYTHING can happen! That's what makes it so fun to follow! A #2 or 3 seed can get hot late in the year and suprise alot of people, or the Rose's and South Meck's can dominate it...theres not telling!

As for predictions...I better not! :nono: You should have seen my NCAA basketball bracket! haha :laugh1: :laugh1:

Rose has a good shot with all the upper classmen who have post-season experience, but they have shocked me in some losses already this year. I am sure RV will have his team playin top-knotch baseball now though.

Green Hope may can actually make a good run at it in the east with their two pitchers. Two stud pitchers and a very good catcher can win some games in the post-season. Not sure if they have the hitting though.

    Wakefield is very good also.

This might be the West's year in 4A, but I wouldn't count out the East. I think it has been a down year in the east, not a lot of seniors from what I can think of.

I am interested to see how far Josh Horton can carry Orange in the 4A West.

Orange is 3A this year, Five County Conference, Not the PAC-6 as they ahve been for many years. The opening of Cedar Ridge caused this change.

That's right.... thanks for clearin it up. I still get confused by thinking how Orange is in the West when Green Hope is in the East.

Well - just to confuse you some more - the PAC6 4A is in the West, but the Five County 3A where Orange now resides is in the East. And to take it one step further, when the schools realign, Orange moves to 2A.

    4A Observations

    West Section 1:
North Forsyth and West Forsyth look destined to face each other in the 2nd round. RJR and East Forsyth look strong going into the 2nd round. A #2 or even a #3 team could advance out of this bracket to face the winner of the West Section 2. You have the current #9 team in this regional (North Forsyth) which was upset last week by Page. West Forsyth has been on a roll.
    Matchups:
    West Forsyth vs Central Cabarrus
    North Forsyth vs Person
    Page vs RJ Reynolds
    Chapel Hill vs East Forsyth

    West Section 2:
Extremely tough matchups in this section. 4 teams have won at least 22 games. Potential of an ACHS/Providence rematch or an ACHS/North Meck matchup in the 2nd round. Even more intriguing is the potential of a South Meck/Independence matchup in the 2nd round. The question is: "Who gets hot". With South Caldwell, Watauga and Myers Park thrown into the equation, another question is: "Will there be any first round surprises?". There should be no easy games. It will be difficult for a lower seed to break through this bracket. You have the #2, #3, #5 and #8 teams in this regional (Alexander Central, South Meck, Independence, North Meck). South Meck was upset last week by East Meck and North Meck lost in 8 innings to Independence.
    Matchups:
    Independence vs Watauga
    South Meck vs South Caldwell
    North Meck vs Providence
    Alexander Central vs Myers Park

    East Section 1:
Tough first round games with very even matchups. If it holds true to form, you could see Garner vs JH Rose and Green Hope vs Wakefield in the 2nd round. Depends on who gets hot. Look out for Garner who is playing very well. You have the current #1, #6, #7 and #10 teams in the state in this regional (JH Rose, Garner, Wakefield, Green Hope). Both Green Hope and Fuquay lost in the conference tournament last week.
    Matchups:
    Green Hope vs Athens Drive
    Wakefield vs Fuquay-Varina
    Garner vs Millbrook
    JH Rose vs Lee County

    East Section 2:
Hoggard has been the dominate team coming out of this area, with most of the competition they will be facing having at least 6 losses on the season. If someone can pull an upset, it's wide open, but look for Hoggard to be waiting on whoever comes out of the East Section #1. Potential of a really nice matchup in Round #3 of New Bern ( with Adam Warren pitching) vs Hoggard with their huge bats (and close fences). This one ought to be fun. You have the #4 team in this regional (Hoggard)
    Matchups:
    New Bern vs Laney
    Scotland County vs Lumberton
    Pine Forest vs Pinecrest
    Hoggard vs Richmond County

West section 2 and East section 1 look very tough.

I have a feeling that the East section 1 (round 1) winners will be:
    Green Hope over Athens
    Wakefield over Fuquay
    Millbrook over Garner
    Rose over Lee County

    Round 2:
    Wakefield over Green Hope
    Rose over Millbrook

    Round 3:
    Rose over Wakefield

    Is that how it goes?
