When our young men can sit and read information and experiences of people trying to reach there dream it makes a much better impression on them than just "Daddy" trying to push them. :xyzthumbs

One suggestion and recommendation is that the 8 regions be subdivided into smaller areas thus creating 16 teams intead of 8. However, this is supposed to be a tournament of elite players, invariably, excellent players are left off because they may have had a poor tryout, or their coach did not nominate them, which I know to be a fact from some Raleigh area coaches who refuse to nominate their players.

I'm sorry coachevans but I stand by my previous post.

I may be stepping on some toes here, but I have a real problem with HS level coaches (HS, Legion, or whatever) that would deny one of their players a opportunity that could make the difference in them playing at the next level or not. These "coaches" do not have the best interest of their players at heart. The State Games of North Carolina IS certainly one of those opportunities

I poersonally don't ave a problem with that as I ahev kept one of my own when I coached the underclassman and senior state games, but this player cplayed and excelled in the games. Why not help one of your own if that will make a difference, but we all know you shouldn't keep one there if he can't play at that level. The state games coaches invest a lot of personal time and energy in this process not to help a deserving player from their program in this case.

That being said, there are always deserving kids that don't make it in every region, which shows the high quality of baseball that is present in this state.

    :xyzthumbs.......agreed.

I guess I should've said so but......I just assumed that everyone understood that a State Games nominee should be able to compete at that level. It would take great courage and fortitude for a coach to keep "one of his own" in todays atmosphere. I salute you. :applause: :applause: :applause:
