    My understanding is that in order to be eligible for the tryouts a player is required to be nominated by his varsity baseball high school coach. An official nomination form was supposed to be completed and turned in sometime in March. After that, the varsity baseball coach should have given all the eligible players information on the tryout dates, times, etc...

    I am not sure that his HS coach has to nominate him. I know that Coach Bagwell has helped individuals on other teams with the process...including the nomination. Believe it or not, some HS coaches don't lend a hand with the process

    Not "his" but "a". I have helped kids in the past whose HS coach would not nominate him, in fact the HS coach, also his legion coach in this instance.
