State Games

With the tryouts for the state games just getting started. Who do you see making the underclassman or region teams? What about the EAST & WEST? And taking a question posed to AP. And do you think a signed or verbally committed player should play in this?

 

Just my opinion

As far as the underclass state games I dont feel any player that has verballed to a college should be allowed to play. I know some great kids who are great players that I think the world of all the kids that fall into this category. This is certainly not a knock on them. Its just my opinion that the state games is an event used by college coaches to id players and scout players that have not made a decision on a college choice. Every player that participates that has already made a college decision that plays takes an opportunity away from a kid that has not.

The college coaches that attend this event could careless about seeing a bunch of kids that have already verballed to college programs. They are there to see the kids that are available not unavailable.

As far as the East West game this is not the case. Most if not all of the players picked for this event have already made a college decision. Its basically an all star game.

As far as who will make it who knows. Its up to the coaches that are picking the players. Who shows well at the tryouts etc. There will be some guys that come out of nowhere to make the teams. There will be some names we all know about. Good luck to all the kids trying out. And I hope we dont have the same old tired posts that we have every year.

I'd like to see the state divided into more regions. Regions 3,5, and 6 are much more heavily populated than the others. Maybe come up with 12 regions.

 

Readjustment of East & West would be nice. Or two others and a weekend of playing ball for the Graduated

for the East/West game and its the day of graduation from high school at Broughton in raleigh.... any other schools have this problem

 

HS Graduations

Charlotte-Mecklenburg graduations are all that week through the weekend too. Looks like when the state legislature changed the school calendar law a couple of years ago, it affected more folks than they realized.

 

East/West Game

My son is in the same boat (High School Graduation on June 11th). I wonder if I can get my $10.00 back?
