Yes, you are getting very sleepy.

When I snap my fingers, you will wake up & repeat the following:

They did the best they could!
They did the best they could!
They did the best they could!
They did the best they could!
They did the best they could!

You will remember nothing from this thread!

    Good job, guys!

Specifically in Region 6, the coaches were aware of who had make-up games on tryout days and counted that as an "excused absence". For example, the kids from Providence couldn't attend until the last tryout because they had games on both of the first two tryout dates.

I can say this. None of the players selected for Region 6 were selected because of who they knew. There were several meetings held by the coaches where they discussed, debated, and argued about which players were qualified and such. I think it's been said several times, it's a flawed process and they did the best they could.

I guess to make this statement, you are one of the coaches or have an inside line with one of the coaches.

I'm just saying that if you are not going to enforce the 2 tryout rule for all, then do away with it.

I have a hard time believing that actual debate took place, evidence being the team roster.
I was at last year's tryouts and saw one kid from South Charlotte that was probably the best at that position, not get picked and he would up at UNCC.
This year I was not there, but was told by several baseball people who showed well and who didn't.

I am afraid that as someone mentioned earlier the word is out and tryouts will start to dwindle. I would not recommend a kid tryout unless he's politically connected! That's just my opinion, from being involved the last two years.

I don't worry about my kid as he will use this as a motivation to become better. He will go to college somewhere and has the grades to go anywhere he wants.
I do worry about those others!
I am ok, if we can agree that it's political and end it here.
Just don't pixx on me and say it's raining!

And to jump on your band wagon...my son even TOLD me that he felt badly because he WITNESSED a kid that out shined everyone at a specific tryout and the kid didn't even get a nod. I'm with you, if you can't (or won't) abide by a specific rule, then do away with it.

    Life is Good

You know, I just took a couple of deep breaths and the realization of what we are debating occured to me.

There was a kid that just won his battle with cancer and is now on the pitching staff with the greatest baseball team ever assembled in heaven! WD #6

This all seems like a minor and uneventful topic right now!

I am truly sorry if I offended anyone and will not post to this topic anymore! Baseball as great a game, is still just a game that kids play!

Life is good, very true Countryboy.

My son tried out for Region 5. He is thankful for the opportunity. He did not make it nor did he deserve to. He feels bad for kids who he knew that did not even get to tryout. We had two kids at Ragsdale that did not even get to go and both will play in college somewhere. Many kids do not make that team yet go on to play college baseball or achieve things far beyond that.

I watched one of our 2 tryouts. they were reasonably well run and everyone got a fair shot. Most of the kids selected in region 5 have already committed to colleges so obviously someone who knows more than most of us saw something in them.

Things may not have been perfectly fair but I don't know many things in life that are 100% fair.
