I wish I could have been there. Brittany U. you are a great competitor and I know that you left everything you had on the ballfield. Just know that if Enka had not been playing I would have been there....We now have the rest of the summer to forget about this game and enjoy the rest...

    Lady Colts Win

West Stanly defeated a very strong Central Davidson team tonite 6-3. Andrea Fowler(12-1) was the winning pitcher with Chelsea Morton picking up her third save of the year.

    WS: 21-6

    Pisgah's Season

This was a team I really enjoyed watching this season. I believe they were one of the best hitting clubs this scout saw all spring. It's too bad they did not advance farther. But, tonight they faced one of the top pitchers (if not players) in the state, not just 2A. She is a junior and one of the kids we work with at NSR. She's already getting a good deal of DI attention.

My hat goes off to Pisgah's seniors who pulled it all together for a terrific season, something that is often difficult to do with seven veterans starting. I'm especially proud of NSR kids Haven Payne and Katelynn Wilson who had solid seasons, start to end. Good luck to them as they continue their careers at Montreat and Brevard, respectively. For two years, I've told anyone who would listen that Brittany Underwood has the best natural movement on her ball of anyone in the Mountains. I hope to see her continue playing at the college level.

Nice job to all the Lady Bears.

    Pisgah/Ashe... more like a 3rd round game.

Wow! I was not expecting such a tough draw in the first round for Pisgah. Brittany U pitched another outstanding game. Brittany and Ashe's Kayla were blazing everyone down. As usual with two great pitchers, the game comes down to errors and the Bears outfield missed a very catchable ball which really was the difference. If the score were 0-0 going into the 7th, I would have put my money on Brittany. The Bears were starting to hit Kayla late in the game but only one Ashe player was able to handle Brittany's speed and movement. All the credit to Kayla. She is one tough hitter and pitcher. One of the best bats I've seen this year.
Pisgah ... a super season. :applause: Brittany, I can't wait for summer ball. Your desire, determination and talent are a dream for any coach and teammate.

    Mount Pleasant -vs- Western Alamance

Mount Pleasant #1 RRC looked impressive tonite against Western Alamance the No. 2 seed from their conference. MP shut out WA 7 to 0. Great job Kelly, Hannah, Brittany and the rest of the ladies at MP. Good luck in the second round. Enjoyed talking with MP2 and the rest of the folks tonite.
