    Yeah, best of 7 is a bit of overkill. South of the border, the upper-state and lower-state champions play a best of 3 series. AAAA and AAA it only took two games. It did go three in AA and A. The State Champion in A lost the first game.

    Single elimination in the first round to weed out the wildcards and third seeds and then double from then on in. It would be nice to not have your entire season boiled down to a bad ump during a single game. 2nd chance in a different venue or play them tournament style over the weekends.

    ps.. would someone teach the Fishmonger how to quote.

    I think double elimination will never happen in NC. Best of 3 series would be a stretch. But it would be very easy to make a weekend event for the final 4 instead of cramming it all in less than 24 hours. Regionals Friday night, elimination Saturday with the Championship Sunday. This will be our 3rd trip and it goes by in a blur, having one pitcher pitch 4 and possibly 5 games in less than 24 hours is ridiculous! My dd did it twice. I know some of you will say have 2 pitchers but the truth is most 1A and 2A schools are lucky to have 1 good pitcher.
