State Playoff's - How accurate were our predictions & what are the surprises?

    Each year we make predictions on who will lead in high school softball this year. Now that we are headed into round 3 of state playoffs, wouldn't it be amusing to revisit our predictions...

    Were we accurate? And who were the surprises coming out of no where?

    Some of the perennial favorites have already fallen.

    CB Aycock & Triton's (I am so sorry girls - you are awesome!) runs out of the East ended tonight - in the 2nd round.

    Butler, predicted to go deep into the playoffs, fell in the 2nd round tonight to East Forsyth who battled mightily against Reagan for a 3rd seed standing.

    Some surprises that were never mentioned for the East:

    South Johnston - 3A out of Eastern Carolina Conference moves on into the 3rd round making them one of the 16 "best" teams in the state this year.

    Western Harnett - 3A out of Cape Fear Valley Conference also moves on...never a blip on anyone's radar yet 1 of the top 8 teams in the East, and top 16 in the state

    NCSSM - 1A out of Carolina 9 moves on (goooooooooooo Cameron!)

    West Forsyth came in 3rd in their conference and fizzled out in the first round of state playoffs (Sorry Sam- rock that pitching in college!)

    Swett sneaks up on WF Rolesville and knocks them out of contention (Sorry Jordan!)
