    Can't believe that AK/Providence and Laney/Rose are seeing each other this early.

    ...I am hearing rumors the game has been changed in Greenville to 7:00 PM Thursday night instead of 7:00 PM Friday night.

    this is a fact doc i talked with the front office at Rose today and the lady at the desk informed me of the change. i kinda wish this match up was later in the playoffs but it should be a great game either way.

    Carolina Conference: 9-1

    The Carolina Conference teams are off to a good start in the Eastern 1A state playoffs. Collectively, the 5 teams from this league are 9-1 heading into the 3rd round. The only loss was Spring Creek losing to fellow conference-member North Johnston 2-1. #1 seed Rosewood, #2 North Johnston, #3 Ayden-Grifton, & wildcard Princeton make up half the 1A east field remaining. North Johnston will meet Ayden-Grifton in the 3rd round, so the league is assured of at least 1 team moving on to the next round.:cheers2:

    You forgot to add Rose's Chase McDonald...two bombs including a two run shot in bottom of 6th to put Rose up 3-2 after trailing since the 1st.

    First off, Laney is good, dang good. Ferrell made just two mistakes all night but it cost him. Their ss who I think is LaGrange is smooth in the field and can hit. Outstanding team. You can tell they are well coached and well drilled on the fundamentals.

    Top of 1st: Laney: Single, wild pickoff at first allowing the runner to 3rd, single scores run, double play, single, caught stealing.
    Bot of 1st: Rose: 1,2,3

    2nd: Laney: so, so, groundout
    Rose: out, out, walk, out

    3rd: Laney: error on short (advances to 2nd), walk, sac bunt, ground out scoring run, fly out to deep left.
    Rose: double, so, fly out, ground out

    4th: Laney: so, so, single, so
    Rose: McDonald lead off hr, Mobley double off left cf fence, so, so, foul out to catcher.

    5th: Laney: so, pop up to 3rd, single by LaGrange, fly out to lf
    Rose: ground out, ground out, so

    6th: Laney: fly out to left, so, so
    Rose: Infield hit, McDonald bomb to left, ground out, infield hit, next batter grounds to 3rd but error on 3rd baseman on throw to first allowing run to score, so, ground out.

    7th: so, so, double on 0-2 count by Ferrell, so

    Laney: 2 6 1
    Rose: 4 7 2
