Brandon Denton, a very capable #2 for Northern Nash will probadly get the call tomorrow night. Denton, by the way, had a home run tonight for the Knights against Oxford Webb.

Tyler Joyner was lights out last night in Oxford. We had 2 hits. (Thorpe and Allen) The big blow for NN was when Denton hit a 3-run HR in the 5th with 2 outs. We were down 2-0, and even with Joyner throwing, who knows, a walk, an error, and then a blast. Wasn't feeling real bad until the ball floated over the right center wall in the 5th for NN, then I wondered how we were going to manage this. We didn't as he was very good. He had command all night long of all of his pitches, and even ended up with 3 hits. Webb will bounce back next year returning 6 starters and 3 of their 4 top pitchers, with a couple younger guys that will step in and help out immediately. Already excited about next year! Good luck to the Knights in the eastern finals. Good job to Coach Tate, Carroll, and Hobgood for the Warriors. Warriors finished 20-9 on the season.

    Rainy Days in Cherryville!

I have't heard alot about the Cherryville-Murphy game in the 1A West, so I assume it was rained out again last night & re-scheduled for today.

    Eastern Wayne-6
    Northern Nash-5

NN led 5-0 in the 5th. Grand slam by EW made it 5-4. Going to bottom of 7th NN walks leadoff hitter. NN then gets a double play. EW gets a HR and 2 doubles to win it.
