    SWR/KM, SWR/DH Conley

    SWR 2, KM 1 in 9 innings
    W-Maness L-Childers

KM had their chances. Several well hit balls in gaps. SWR catcher York (Charleston Southern) picked off KM runners at first twice in the last couple of innings. Very well pitched game by both pitchers. I think Maness had 10 or 11Ks and Childers the same or a few more??
Berry with 1 run scored, Gearren the rbi. Don't remember the other.

    SWR 4, DH Conley 0
    W-Marsh L-Riggs

Marsh fires 1 hitter in the winners bracket game. Nasty stuff tonight. Typical of the Marshall of late as she has now allowed only 3 hits in her last 27 innings. A nice play at 3B by McCaskill saves what surely would have been a second DHC hit.
Ashley Sewell (Mars Hill) and Natalie Haithcox (Mars Hill) combine to score or drive in 3 of the 4 Cougar runs. Hogan socres the 4th. (I believe I've remembered correctly).

KM versus DH Conley in the morning for the right to a rematch with SWR. Harnett Central is eliminated tonight by KM (2-0 I think).

A few specifics that i've heard. Chelsea Leonard throws perfect game and KO's 18. Gina Antonucci scores one and drives in one. Congrats Coach Poindexter and Central Davidson. Pender wins with a 3-run homerun in the bottom of the 8th. congrats to all the state champs and their families. :worshippy:
