State tournament

Man, the state tournament brackets are interesting. It is still early but the brackets are fun to look at and play "what if". Here are a few interesting things that stuck out at me.

1.) 46 eligible 4A teams in the West and 32 make the playoffs.
2.) The bottom half of the bracket appears to include all of the split conferences and one non-split conference (I-Meck).
3.) The top half of the bracket includes no split conferences.
4.) The split conferences have 12 4A teams and 9 are guaranteed playoff spots (75%). The non - split conferences have 34 teams and 20 are guaranteed playoff spots (58%). This seems to be rewarding the teams whose season consisted mainly of playing 3A teams.
5.) SW4A will play with the Greensboro schools in the tournament - all other Charlotte conferences play with the Mountain conferences.
6.) Southern Carolina conference has two eligible teams and both will make the playoffs.
7.) NW4A has three eligible teams and two are guaranteed to make the playoffs.
8.) MEGA - 7 has four eligible teams and three are guaranteed to make the playoffs.
9.) If alive in the 3rd round, East Meck, McDowell and Butler could all be playing road games.
10.) Only 3 wildcard spots.

Early prediction from me - East Meck will win it all!
