McKinney's playing time has decreased over the last few weeks due to some strong seniors keeping their spots in the lineup. McKinney got the start in the 2nd game of a DH on Thursday for UNCP (17-3 overall) and went 2-2 with a walk before coming out of the game. Stephen's two hits were a HR and a triple.

You young knuckleheads who get down about playing time should take this as an example of how to step up to the plate when you get the chance. Stephen could of easily gone up there ticked off at the world and K'd twice and blamed it on lack of PT but he sucked it up and made the most of it like you should.

This attitude is exactly why I knew Stephen had the ability and heart to continue playing college baseball. He didn't have the easiest route to college ball but he will not disappoint and UNCP has them a good one.

Way to make the most of the opportunity bud!!!

    The kid is a ballplayer

Stephen simply loves the game of baseball and has taken advantage of the opportunity when Coach O'Neill has him in the field or is simply the DH. My son says that Stephen lives and breathes baseball and can't wait to get to the field everyday. What a great kid with a even better attitude.

Come on down to Pembroke this weekend when they take on USC Aiken in a key PBC East divisional matchup. The weather is to be beautiful in the upper 70's so there is no reason not to come out - I'll see you at the game!

    Go Braves!
