It drives me crazy watching players get out of the box and do this after every pitch:

    - walk near the on deck circle
    - take a few hacks
    - adjust each glove
    - fix helmet
    - adjust sweat bands
    - look at 3rd base coach for sign
    - then step into box

Did they not change the rules to prevent this? What happened to the rule: one foot out of box; check for sign.

It's killin' baseball. I even see it at the youth level. It's driving me crazy.

    Stretchlon- do something about this!

Weak hitters seem to love to do this

You don't have to worry as me and my guys will not let them out of the box more than once in an at bat unless of course they miss and swing then they are allowed to regroup.

    Dear Stretchy,

Can you have a seminar and teach this to all umpires----college, HS and youth?

I am with you on this one Braves

It drives me crazy as well. Keep one foot in the box take a peek at the 3B coach and then hit. Umpires should not allow this to go on. I love this one. Two outs no one on two strikes and the batter steps out and the 3B coach goes through a two minute elaborate sign ordeal. What kind of sign could you possibly be giving? The old get a hit sign? Please get in the box and hit.

I agree! What really bothers me is when MLB pitchers do it. Some of these guys haven't had a hit in months!

I saw a kid who, for every at bat during three consecutive games, held his bat in his left hand and pointed it at the pitcher while tapping his left shoulder with his right hand. Did this before almost every pitch. Drive me crazy! I guess he felt the need to copy someone....

The ump can/should take care of that problem.
