Freddy Suggs, a scout for the MLB scouting bureau is now the general manager for the Carolina Copperheads Scout teams. Freddy did a great job with the Anglers for many years and will continue that success in perhaps one of the biggest baseball organizations in this area.

I hope he does more with the Copperheads than he did with the Anglers. You can't play for a team and expect to get looked at with 40 boys on the roster.

I don't know enough about Uhwarrie to make any comments about that team, but Freddie Suggs is one of the great baseball men in our state. :229031_ha

Way to go Freddy!! Great baseball knowledge and knows the "right" people.
Just get your sons around him and enjoy. We know that he'll do anything and everything to get your boys seen!!

Anyway.....congrats again. This is a HUGE pickup for the Copperheads organization. The Copperheads are gonna be giving that "Atlanta Bunch" a run for their money!!
Good luck to Freddy. Later, RSPM:angel3:

I will second all of the above. The Copperhead organization appeared to have problems with their showcase teams, the rosters appear weighted toward one particular high school, and they had problems retaining some of the better players in their own area. Freddy is a quality baseball man. Hopefully he can get the program pointed in the right direction.

If I remember corrrectly ( and my memory is about as long as my .......) not every player on Freddy's roster travelled to every tournament. I'm not sure that all his kids were financially able to travel the full schedule.

Most of the Angler's paid little if anything to play. Somehow Freddy made it work.

Freddy played extra tournaments so that players could get equal playing time. He gets kids in front of coaches that need to see them and if he cant then he will pick up the phone and call them. He is a great baseball guy.
