Summer Camp pics....wish you were here....love ya , mean it...

    Couldn't ask for a better week... hot steamy weather...and a great crowd of kids, parents, coaches and instructors making this week successful.

    I wanted to share some photos, as this camp is geared to the younger player. One more day to go....if you are in Raleigh tomorrow, come by Wachovia Athletic Park at Peace College and check out the future softball stars of North Carolina softball...

    Check out the last picture....we used the ole "slip n slide" to teach sliding this afternoon. Last pic, left to right... some of the coaches and instructors became little girls agian...

    Nikki Prier... former WF-Rolesville star, just finished her freshman year at Jacksonville State, 2nd team Missouri Valley All Conference.

    Niki Dobbins... former Peace College captain, 3x USA South All conference player, 2x NFCA Atlantic region player, and now head coach at St David's HS, Raleigh NC

    Landon Warren.. rising senior at Broughton HS, has a 63 game hit streak going through 2007 ( currently longest in NC High School history ), and member of the region 3 team that just won the State games competition
    in Greensboro....

    Girls just gotta have fun!!!!!!

    Weird but true

    OK 100 degrees, 95% humidity, Done. It takes special folks to apply themselves in conditions like that. Roofers, carpenters, etc. those jobs don't pay enough to me in said conditions. Well take a group of kids who mean the world to you and make things fun all the while teaching the game is EXTRA SPECIAL. Coach Dobbins has a special ability to unconditionally reach a player. I know that sounds weird, but its true! TBR gives props to CC, Sherrill, Ochoa, Butler, Lloyd, Cen. Dav., etc. Fine company no doubt. Charlie D. knows the game!

    Putting the FUN in Fundamentals

    Thanks for posting the pictures. My daughter thoroughly enjoyed the camp, and we all appreciated the honest evaluation of skills. She read it over, noting the arm accuracy and arm strength marks and said, "I'm not used to being just average." She wanted to know how to improve both. Funny how parents can advise our players, but they'll hear it from a coach. Thanks for a great camp!
