    Central Carolina Scholastic Summer League

    Three Divisions of 8 Teams Each
    South – Harnett Central, Lee, Overhills, Princeton, Smithfield, South. Lee,Triton, Western Harnett

    Central – Apex, East Wake, Enloe, Fuquay, Garner, Knightdale, Middle Creek, Sanderson

    North – Cedar Ridge, Chapel Hill, ECH, JM, Northwood, Orange, So. Durham, Wake Forest

    Schedule
    Start date: June 12
    Play 14 games on 14 play dates, home and home within division
    Play dates: June 12, 13, 15, 19, 20, 22, 26, 27
    July 6, 10, 11, 17, 18, 20
    Showcase games: June 30 (2 games) & July 1 (4 games)
    July 14 (2 games), July 15 (4 games), & July 16 (3 games) - NCSU
    Non division games can be scheduled on any open date
    Junior teams play opposite sites or agreed upon DH at same site

    Tournament
    Dates: July 26 thru July 29
    Teams: Top four teams from each division (use NCHSAA tie breakers)
    Sites: two on 7/26 & 7/27; one on 7/28 (Semis) &7/29 (Champ) at TBD
    Game times: 5:00 & 7:30
    Brackets / Seeding: 1 (N1) vs. 8 (C3)/ 9 (S3) Winner
    4 (C2) vs. 5 (N2)/ 12 (S4) Winner

    2 (S1) vs. 7 (N3)/ 10 (C4) Winner
    3 (C1) vs. 6 (S2)/ 11 (N4) Winner

    Fees
    League dues: $150.00 for senior teams
    Umpires: $200.00 booking fee per all teams, plus $110.00 per game
    Game balls supplied by home team





    Showcases
    Six teams (two from each division) of 14 players each
    Each team plays twice at June 30/ July 1 showcase
    Each team plays three times at July 14 – 16 showcase
    High school coaches cannot coach Showcase teams

    Expenses for Showcases
    T shirts: 100 @ $10.00 each = $1000.00
    Balls: 15 games @ $30.00 each = 450.00
    Umpires: 15 games @ $110.00 each = 1650.00
    Field Rentals: 5 days @ $300.00 each = 1500.00
    Total 4600.00

    Income
    League dues: 24 teams @ $150.00 each = 3600.00
    Gate: 250 X $5.00 X 5 days = 6250.00
    Concessions: profits kept by volunteering teams


    League Rules
    NCHSAA Rules
    Players must be on high school or middle school team
    Admission: max $3.00/ game - $5.00/ DH
    All players must be insured
    Any non division game must be scheduled with the umpire booking agent by the home
    team before April 12th

    Any net revenues for the league remaining after the tournament will be set aside in an escrow account to help fund the league in 2006. If additional sufficient funds are available, the league will fund and award scholarship(s) to league participant(s) based on a vote of the coaches.

    Misc.
    Central Carolina Scholastic Sports will apply for a charter as a nonprofit, charitable organization.

    Insurance proposal for one team, for Wake County teams, and for all teams will be made by The Young Group of Fuquay.

    CCSSL will need to contract with a charitable organization to take admission at Showcase & Tournament games.

    Volunteer coaches, one for each team, must be found for the six Showcase teams.

    Not to mention, NC State has offered to have each of our teams come in for a 3-day team camp. I know my guys are looking foward to it.

    This is a tremendous opportunity for these kids. About 1/2 the mountain schools now keep their teams together in the summer and play all summer long. But nothing this organized. Someone has really put a lot of time and effort into this and it will benefit a large number kids. This is fantastic.
