Looking for a summer team for a college DII catcher in the Charlotte or Fort Mill area. Looking at the Charlotte Men's League. Any feedback?

He might want to check with the Smokies, they just moved to the Ballentine area from Fort Mill and will play at Adrey Kell.

    Players resume

Most of the time the college coaches are setting up their players for summer wood bat leagues. (cape cod, alaska, north woods, coastal plains, valley, scbl, etc.) This is usually done well in advance by their college coach.

Ft Mill Stingers renamed themselves the Balantyne Smokies in the SCBL (Southern Collegiate Baseball League). This is a great start.

However, if that doesn't work, here's how i helped a college pitcher land on an excellent SCBL team. I created a one page player resume. I contacted a Coastal Plains league team. Their general manager had their roster set, but gave me the head of the league's email and the CPL website. I made a phone call, sent the one page player resume via email. The CPL manager's office distributed it to the leagues teams. And kept copies on file. An SCBL coach contacted the CPL looking for good players. He picked up my pitcher. He had an excellent summer. Was a league leader in wins and ERA. Got offers from a few NAIA schools coming out of Juco. Like i said, this typically organized and arranged by the college coach, but sometimes you have to make your own opportunities.

Even if your player doesn't get a full summer, he may get picked up at the beginning or end of the summer for a short term contract. That's better than nothing.

If you send me a PM with your email, I'll send you a copy of the player resume.
