Myers Park High School Head Coach John Spencer’s Skill Clinics

Who: Players who are baseball ages 7-12 who would like to improve their game by developing strong fundamentals. (age as of 4/30/2011 )
What: Four separate hour long skill clinics to enhance the fundamentals in different facets of the game. Come to one, come to all four, it is up to you.
When: Every Sunday starting August 15th and ending August 29th. There will be a total of 3 Sundays in August.
Where: Myers Park Trinity Little League Fields.

Things to know before coming to camp:

1) This is not a babysitting service. I have been in baseball long enough to know that most camps are about chasing kids around for a few hours. I am there to teach baseball. If your kid is not there to learn baseball and be a productive part of the clinic, he or she will be asked to leave. Regardless of the skill level, all I ask is that the player gives effort and listens.

2) The cost is $10 a session. The schedule for the sessions is listed below. You are welcome to come to as many sessions as you would like. I would recommend sticking to one or two. If you are a position player or a catcher, you would go to the respective sessions. If you pitch, play a position, and want to do hitting then you would go to three.

Schedule:

1:00-2:00 – Infield
2:15-3:15 – Hitting
3:30-4:30 – Catching
4:45-5:45 – Pitching

We can only take about 20 per session. Parents are welcome to stay and help out. If you are wanting to help we can all meet at 12:30 each Sunday to discuss what we will be doing for the day.
