    CC

Coastal Carolina must have really built a nice program down there. 50 wins in 3 of last 4 seasons.

Yep, EOR.....I tend to agree with you. The CC boys have been flying under the radar screen for awhile. It would be an upset, but may not be a huge upset, if CC knocked off UNC. UNC better come ready to play......

And, wouldn't it be nice to see the Wolfpack win the bid to the World Series?
They've got some good pitching....maybe a timely hit for them might be the difference? Was surprised they made it past Mr. Tanner last weekend, but who knows? Anything could happen. UGA seems to REALLY have their bats going right now.....was very surprised to see how many runs they put on GA Tech. Their offense seems to be peaking right now.

    Any predictions?

    win something!!!

DDD, well being a lifelong Wolfpack fan I am certainly picking none other than the PACK.................; we are starving for some kind of championship success at something. It's been a tough sports year in general for State, so I hope the baseball gods shine down on Wolfpack nation in Athens!!

yes last trip to Omaha was 1968.

    MLB draftees at Athens

Georgia's premier SS Beckham was an early 1st round selection, and their outstanding closer Fields was later in the same round.

Two Pack pitchers Shunick and Surkamp were drafted in the 5th and 7th rounds.

May have been others; don't know at this point.

I grew up in Conway where Coastal Carolina is. I lived about a mile from the ballpark at one time. I hate that they have to go to Carolina because I would love for both to make it to CWS. I did see that Coastal had a couple of boys drafted yesterday. They have had some good talent there for the last few years. I hope to get to watch alot of the Superregionals on TV this weekend.

    an update

State's start was great; 2-0 lead in the 3rd on 2 solo HR's / Martin and Pond.

But, Ga. strikes back quickly with 4 runs in the bottom of the 3rd. Shunick was very sharp in first 2 innings, but big struggle in the 3rd. Threw 30 pitches in that inning.

I still think State will hit a lot on the Ga. starter. we'll see.
