What high school football teams were the biggest surprises/disappointments in 2006?

    Suprise/Dissappointments

My nominee for suprise of the year go to Watauga. From NWC doormat to a
9-2 record going into the playoffs. Great season by Breitenstein and the Mountain Men from Boone.

My dissapointment of the year is Lincolnton. They make it to the state final last year and struggle this year. Did they loose that much with graduation?

The suprises are not over with the playoffs starting.

as far as disapointments im a little worried about Big I. too many close games this year for Knots. I dont think they will make it all the way, i just got one of those feeling. Not feeling good bout the kids in L-town either.

Surprises would have to be (1 North Lincoln, great job for this school to get on the winning side only a few years after its inauguration (2 Fred T. Foard AND St. Stephens both got off doormat and SSHS lost a lot of close games

    SJ

South Johnston HS in 3A finished the 2006 season with a record of 7-5 with a 1st rd playoff loss. SJ was formed as a school in 1969 and has had only about a half dozen winning seasons. This was only their 4th playoff appearance in 38 yr's of football.
