I feel obliged to recommend a prohibition against sandbagging on this thread. That would probably eliminate ~99% of this board's regular contributors.

You people seem to forget about Providence, Butler, East Meck and Myers Park.. With the exception of Providence, which is in a league of it’s own, everybody else is even.

East Meck has Ben Buchanan, a sure 9-10 wins, Brett Alter 7-8 wins, David Teague, Blake Gehringer, Joey Savago and co….and they have a terrific coach.

Myers Park is loaded. Logan Smith, Jason Kennell ( in my opinion the most underrated player in Charlotte), JJ Rollins and Timmy Kramer and a host of other extremely talented players.

Olympic will be young, but the best team they have had since the Thurston days. Thomas Hovis could start for anybody and probably the #1 starter on most. You also have Nate Staton, a monster with the bat and a very good pitcher…throw in lefty Wes Waddell and the Trojans will be pushing for a playoff spot.

South Meck is a very young team. They have senior leadership with Kyle Shelton and Elliott Arrington….Clayton Erickson and Austin Henderson will provide some bats, Brandon Stanford should do a very good job behind the plate, but other than that, the rest are juniors and sophomores.

Providence is the king of the hill. Nobody can compete with that pitching staff, senior leadership and the strongest depth in the conference.

Relax, NCBballfan…take a big breath….you can’t make crazy statements like you did without expecting someone to call you on it :D

Team Speed. What team has more speed than the Ahearn brothers at Providence. Lightning doesn't catch these boy's.

I agree providence is the only team that can match north head to head with speed. but not only does providence have the ahearns, but dietrich is right there, cory dunning, aj mason, and bobby northrup can all go under a 7.0.

conference should be strong as i was last year, the teams that decide playoffs will be butler waddel and olympic. they all return guys who can play although lack the depth of other teams. i believe it will be between east and myers park for third. i'd throw butler up there but lossing 3 starters for 30 days cant be good.
key for east: stay healthy, they cant afford to lose neone. they lack depth at about every position.
key for myers park: dont get arrogant at what they did last year, i dont see htis team doin that with guys like kramer and smith, but it is possible.

one thing that both must do is win the games they are supposed to win. sounds siple but caused eat to miss the playoffs 2 years ago. also put the ball in smith and buchanan's hands as much as possilbe. the rest of the pitchers on both teams are inexperienced and untested.

Thank you for reminding me NC04DAD. On top of Providence's deep pitching staff, senior leadership, great hitting..they are quick as cats.

I wish I had a schedule for Butler. If Im right we will get those starters back on 3/29. We will have played Prov. S.Meck N.Meck(twice) and Indy(twice) by then. Damn younguns

Look at the positives. Your bench will get some good P.T. during their absence which will only improve the depth of the team for the majority of the season in the SW4A. You will only be 4 games into the regular season. With the strength of South Meck and Providence, a 2-2 record at that point, even with the players back was a strong possibility. Concentrate on the other two conference games.

Your team will be stronger come playoff time. The top-3 in the SW4A go to states this year. South Meck will just be starting their tough run through East Meck, Myers Park and Providence at that time.... plenty of time to make up ground.

Two of the people that would get the playing time are on the Basketball team ....and we know how they are doing; they could still be playing.
