    First of all, if one feels a need to trashtalk or attack someone, then take it to the field or confront the person in person. Don't hide behind a screen name and attack adults. There's a big difference between wanting to beat someone and calling out names on a messageboard....and to attack someone personally because they gave kudos to a player or players is classless under any definition.

    Quite frankly, the fact that you support this behavior does not speak well for you, either. It has never been tolerated on this board and it never will...and yes, I know Danny much better than you do and I know he would find it embarrassing, as well. I don't care if you are an adult or a kid, if you can't be respectful to the members, you don't deserve to post on here.

    EM and Indy results

    Just a couple of corrections for Independence and East Meck at the Cardinal Classic Spring Break Tourney. Independence beat Garinger 6-5 on Monday (scored 2 in the 7th to win it--I don't know any other details), rather than the reported game agst Berry on SW4ALive.

    East Mecklenburg didn't play on Wednesday (SW4ALive had them beating Highland Tech). They played Vance this morning and won 12-2 in 6 innings with Lou Trosch going the distance for the Eagles ( he had 11 Ks and gave up 1 ER). The other results SW4ALive has for East Meck are correct.

    Thanks for the report from the Carolina Classic WCLion. I could see who won by records but had the tournament draw out of order.

    Tuesday’s Game of the Week

    The streaking South Meck Sabres, winners of six straight and trying to separate themselves from the log jam for the fifth in the league, hosts Providence as the Panthers try to maintain their one game lead for the conference’s top spot.

    Providence jumped on the Sabres early in their first meeting at Panther Field scoring five unearned runs in the first two innings then cruised behind the pitching of Kurt Semieuk.

    You can trace the Sabres’ turnaround directly to the return of their shortstop Matt Youtsey to action. Youtsey has settled their early season erratic defense which had routinely hurt SM. The Sabres slug as well as anyone in the league and have 10 round trippers, trailing only Weddington for the league lead.

    Speaking of slugging, five different Panthers smacked HR’s last week that helped Providence overcome large deficits to win games late versus Butler and Watauga. Furthermore, speaking of returns, Panther star Richie Shaffer returned off the DL to get the final out against Butler on Friday and should be available to Coach Hignight today.
