First, the interesting part of this tournament is teams 1-7 can beat each other and have during the season....there really is no clear cut favorite...well, there is one, but that is obvious

Myers Park: They are strong in two out of three categories; Hitting and Pitching. The Mustangs have done a good job in hitting led by Rob Wilson and co. Look at their lineup

    1 Cook
    2 Kremer
    3 Wilson
    4 Woodard
    5 Smith
    6 Rollins

....all these guys can go yard on you and Rollins is the toughest hitter to strike out

Pitching: Two strong starters in the RW boys and Logan Smith is good...but beatable..interesting to see who they pitch if they reach the Championship game...one has to remember that they already won the Season Championship, so it may affect their decision.

East Meck: They are led by Ben Buchanan and their Seniors, Matt Hill, Shawn Neal, andTyler White. What an incredible feat by Tyler last night. Coming off of a shoulder dislocation he dropped two bombs last night and plays the best centerfield in the city.

They are capable of winning with Burnham and Fulginiti on the mound.

If they play like they did in the Shelby Tournament, then the Trophy will reside on Monroe Rd. or the Buchanan's house if Mr. Buchanan gets a hold of it.

Providence: They really miss Matt Taffazoli...don't know if he will be back for the playoffs. They have everything..pitching, hitting and defense. They are lacking something this year, but I can't put my finger on it....but they have the talent to go deep in the tournament and the playoffs. Tyler Collins has lived up to his billing and Alex Martin and Alex Clay have pitched well.

South Meck: They are by far the best 4th seed team in the county and perhaps state. The Sabres are loaded with talent. Arguably, the most talented team in Charlotte..but they play so tight...the one of few games they didn't was a 17-2 win @ Butler..another potential darkhorse.

Shelton, Rummage, Kerr, Robinson, Arrington and Kennedy can all hit well and Bart Johnson has been a big surprise with his bat...many times leading the Sabres with hits.

Pitching: Charles Vartainian is very good, despite his misleading record, TJ Worrell has 7 wins and Chip Pope threw extremely well against Providence..throw in Kevin Spain and the Sabres talent is designed for the State playoffs more than the Conference tournament..all their pitchers are capable of wins.

Those are the 4 teams ready for the playoffs...but there is a potential surprise. The most interesting game will be the first one ...and it's SM vs Olympic. If South wins, then the rest of the games really don't matter...but if South loses, then Olympic has an opportunity to knock them out of the playoffs....

As Sockittome says...it's May Madness...it should be fun!!!

Great analasis, but premature. Myers Park's final game is against Olympic, at Olympic tonight. Olympic is good enough to pull off the upset, so the crowning of Myers Park is premature!!!

Probable pitching match-up: Thomas Hovis for Olympic against Rob Wilson for Myers Park.

A Myers Park loss gives East the conference crown and drops Myers Park into a tie for second with Providence.

In my haste, it was an error on my part for saying that Myers Park had won the 2003 SW4A Conference...I should have just stated that this is what has been decided/planned to date!

This is not an analysis nor prediction...it is what has just been decided to date to set the SW4A conference plans in motion which, I'm sure, can or will be possibly subject to change.

Notice that the fields were just picked which can and may stay the same or possibly change but...that there were no teams picked to play each other as yet in the SW4A conference, just seeded teams, which are yet to be determined after ALL the SW4A baseball teams had a chance to make-up ALL their conference games?!?
    :wtf:

What time is the MP vs. Olympic game @ Olympic tonight? Duh...I'll answer that question, probably 6:30ish, I bet!
    :stupid:

Unless I'm mistaken Olympic is the #5 seed and Butler is #6 because Olympic has beaten Butler twice this season so Olympic is playing South Meck and Butler should be playing Providence first round, right? But, I still agree that those two games could both be possible upsets. Watch out for Olympic and Butler, theyre two sleepers that could possibly knock South Meck out of the state playoffs.

If Olympic has beaten Butler twice, then Olympic is the 5th seed...However, if Olympic does beat SM they still have to win the tournament to bump SM out.

I checked with Dr. Methusda and his answer was...." When the cows start barking "...whatever the heck that means
