SW4A Predictions

I wouldn't put AK that low in the standings. I really like what Coach Bagwell has done with the program and I would say a sixth place finish is expected.

 

I would suggest that only one team in the SW4A does not have enough players to beat any other team in the league, including Kell. They will be young but have at least one top pitcher who will keep them in games, an excellent catcher, and a solid group of kids that can catch the baseball.

Weddington and Providence have the proven arms with much talent to go with them, but Butler, Independence and Myers Park will each have a handful of all-league players as well, enough to win on any night. South still has a team full of seniors that have been part of a ton of wins throughout their high school career and will not go away quietly.

That is what makes the SW4A such a great league. NW4A has the consensus number one in South Caldwell and ACR will be strong as well. Hopewell and North will represent the MECA nicely, and the CPC has a number of very talented teams, but from top to bottom the SW4A will rank with any league in the west.

 

AK...I'm a big Bags fan but it's hard to compete in the SW4A with no Seniors and a young first year team. I think they will surprise a lot of teams but I think it will be hard for them to close the tight games in late innings.

I hope you're right...they will be fun to watch this year.

 

I really think they have two good pitchers, that being Darnell and Miller. They will surprise a lot of teams this year.

 

Not sure why everyone has Providence so high either. I know they have Mailman, but they lost two good junior pitchers in Shonts and Miller. I think Myers Park will take it over Providence.

Yes, Providence lost some very good young players due to the addition of Audrey Kell, but their well runs deep. They have Mailman and Hendel, plus a slew of very talented LH pitchers.
