Ardrey Kell 6-1/9-2 -- With Alex Wood back, it puts AK on the top. They need to get their hitting going if they are going to go deep into the playoffs

Myers Park 5-2/9-3-- Myers Park has proven to be an elite team. With Overman and Cudney on the bump, they can win any game.

Butler 5-2/9-3-- I'm really pleasantly surprised at how well Butler has done. If they can equal their 2nd half of the season, it will be amazing. Tyler Tewell may receive the POY in this conference

Providence 5-2/6-5-- Ignore their overall record and pay attention to their conference mark: One game out of 1st place. They are showing signs of breaking out their bats and their pitching has improved. They now have 3 legit starters capable of winning big games. I didn't realize how young this team is, but they are extremely talented. They will make a lot of noise before this season is over and by next year...they will dominate. It reminds me of the ND team from last year.

Weddington 3-4/8-4-- Extremely talented team led by Tyler Pilkington. They have hit a bump since entering their conference games; But this is an extremely dangerous team

South Meck 2-5/5-6-- Another team, since entering the conference games that has stumbled from their fast start. A very good team with Shuey, Wood, Glenn and co., but are not quite as strong as the teams before them.

East Meck 2-5/2-8-- Despite their record, this is a very young and talented team. Playing many sophs and some freshmen, every game they play will be competitive. If they can develop more arms over there, this can be an elite team in the conference in the coming years. Having a huge victory against Weddington and playing Providence to a close game for 6 innings is an indication that things are on an upswing on Monroe Rd.

Independence 0-7/4-9-- Just not enough quality players this year to compete in this conference. But they are young also.

After reviewing all the teams in this conference, the two things that stand out are the number of quality players that are underclassmen, and you better come prepared to play at your best to win any conference game.

The 2nd half of the season should be thrilling:N1yeeaah:

Looking beyond the records, of the six games played between the top four teams, four were decided by a single run. Add Weddington to the mix, and 7-10 games were one runners and only one (MP 9-0 over Butler) did the losing team not have the tying runs come to the plate in their final turn at bat.

Weddington was the one team that was bitten by a lower division school the first time around and that most likely will cost them a chance at the league crown, even if they run the table the second time through. Any of the top four that stub their toe on the lower half this time around will suffer the same fate.

Almost all of these games between the top five were decided on a single pitch or play. The difference between any of them is marginal and there are too many good players on each of the clubs that will allow for one team to easily break away.

Even Nostradamus would have a hard time predicting the outcome of this
league and, all too soon, a loss will mean more than just a set back in search of a SW4A title.

In this case, I don't mind. Nostry was a smart fella; he just couldn't hit a lick. I took him to Vegas one weekend, but he was terrible. So I don't trust him anymore.

But I have a crystal ball, Dr Methusda, that is incredible. It already told me who wins the conference, but I don't want to spoil it:xyxthumbs:
