    Semi Finals at Myers Park on 5/11

    MP/SM winner vs. AK EM winner - 5:00

    Championship Game at Myers Park 5/12 - 7:00

    Just curious...how does Myers Park become the host site for the semi's and finals?

    The semis have been on a rotational basis and it was their turn this year. For the last several years the finals have been at UNCC but with the tournament starting late, UNCC can not host the finals on Tuesday this year because they are scheduled to play UNC on that day.

    Alex Wood has a night to remember

    Alex Wood for AK throws a complete game 1 hit shutout AND hits the game winning 2 run homerun in a 2-0 win over a very good East Meck team.

    (The Wood family act continued as Alex's sister - sophomore Stephanie Wood - had the game winning RBI double to help AK beat Providence 1-0 in softball.)

    Between the Lang Family and the Wood Family, AK could field a pretty darn good coed team!

    I believe Kali Lang tossed a nine-inning shutout, and Brett continues to hit frozen ropes at the opposing pitcher's noggin....good stuff!

    You got that right !

    Kalie pitched a complete game 9 inning shutout with 18 strikeouts as AK beat Providence for the first time ever 1-0.
    I actually posted this on the softball site (this is the first time I have crossed into the softball territory).
