    Butler threw some big leather too

    Tommy Hibbard's diving spear of Jackson Campana's hard liner at third and Kevin Smith's back handed snare of Matt Lee's smash up the middle to end the second. Brian McWhiter making a great stretch at first for an out and Tyler Tewell's pouncing on Tyler Zupcic's bid for a bunt hit and throwing him out to keep the speedster off the bases to open the sixth in a scoreless game at the time.

    MP Peaking at the Right Time

    After a lot of lineup changes (and finding some surprises) looks like we have it going at the right time.

    Changing everybody around has allowed everybody to work through any "start of the season" problems and now we have a number of guys that have played a good bit and are ready if called on...lets see if we can keep it going.

    Balsley pitched great last night - never in any trouble. And we got the hits when we needed them.

    Butler played a great game last night - should be a great one tonight.

    Myers Park 7 Butler 2

    Myers Park wins the SW4A conference tourney behind Chris Overman's complete game six hitter and catcher Brian Holberton 3-3 hitting. Myers Park led 6-0 after five innings.Tourney MVP Holberton had two doubles and a single; J.D. Ey had two hits , as well.

    Myers Park's pitchers allowed only four runs in the tourney, beating South Meck, Ardrey Kell and Butler. The victory secured MP a home game in the state tourney Friday night against McDowell.

    Myers Park looked awesome tonight with Overman pitching. There is a lot of talent on the Greenies team; this team is bigger than most college teams.

    They will be facing a very talented McDowell team that travels well with fan support. I would strongly suggest that Joanna Wilson keep baking those homemade oatmeal cookies and giving them to Braves and the team. The last time I had those cookies, MP made it all the way to the State Championship.
