I am not saying that South is down for the count but for people that hae been to the playoffs know that you need leadership to make it though the playoffs. Talent always helps at the beginning of the game but leadership always wins at the end of a game. This is all I am goin to say on this.

Daniel Whitten (correct spelling) was the pitcher for Butler last night. And yes, it was his first and only start. Daniel has moved from middle reliever/closer to one of Butlers aces. Last night he was throwing middle to high 80's. Coming from the side that can be very nasty!!

Butler gave Prov all they could handle last night (as it should have been!).

Brett Alter's official line: 7 innings, O Runs, 3 Hits, 4 Ks, 1 BB, 64 pitches, 46 strikes. Faced two over the miminum and threw two balls to only three hitters. Awsome, Maddox like, game! Gets it done with location and movement vs. power.

Top of 7th: GAME DELAY boomers, electricity and ozone in the air!

:lalala: Providence leads 8 - 6 vs EMeck

Top of 7th: EMeck has men on 2nd and 3rd no outs.

Small came in relief in 3rd or 4th for Hendel & Providence

Tater Bryant in relief of Raymer in the 2nd for East

Lots of runs, sloppy defense for both... a 180 from last night's play.

Schumer has 2 dbles off left field wall for East. Moore has 2 hits for Providence while Austin Stephenson HRd for Providence in bottom of 6th

Somebody else will have to post the final cause I took shelter!

    PHS 8 East Meck 7

Neither Starter had their A-Game as Raymer and Hendel were hit hard in the first. East plated 3 in the top of the inning and PHS answered w 4 in their half. Bryant started the 2nd for East and pitched into the 6th. East scored two more off Hendel in third and PHS answered w 2 of their own in their half. BOTH teams were hitting the ball HARD!! Small came in for PHS in the top of the 4th and only gave up one run til running out of gas in the 7th. Besselievre came in w one out and the tying run on third in the 7th. He got a crucial strike out for the 2nd out and induced a tapper back to the mound to end the game.

PHS committed 3 errors and East Meck just 1, but there were also some tremndous defensive plays on both sides. OFFENSE RULED as these heavyweights pounded each other . Alter and Besselievre put out late inning fires in relief, after having picthed tremendous complete game victories the night before...

Cory Dunning was named Tourney MVP and has been the Spearhead to this PHS team all year. Mitch Besselievre deserves the 2nd Place MVP Trophy. He has been THE MAN on the mound all year!! Hendel has pitched extremely well this year, but just didn't have his best stuff last night. Austin Stephenson hit a CRUCIAL HOME RUN inthe bottom of the 6th. It was Austin's FIRST HOME RUN EVER and it couldn't have come at a better time. It put PHS up 8-6. Austin has been MR CLUTCH all season long.

Leading hitters last night included: (PHS) Cory Dunning 2-3, 2B; Keith Mauney 2-4, 2B, RBI and Mike Moore 2-4, 2B, 2 RBI; Austin Stephenson 1-3, HR; David Mailman 1-3, 2 Runs Scored... (EM) Justin Schumer 2-4, 2B.

PHS finished their Regular season 23-4 and plays AC Reynolds @ PHS Tuesday night in the 1st Round of the State Playoffs. South Meck and East Meck get the SW4A #2 and #3 Seeds respectively.

GB-Good report. I think you play AC Reynolds insted of SC since SC won the conference tournament and moved up to #2.
