You obviously keep track of what's going on...is the SW4A a top-heavy conference (Butler and East Meck) or do you see any of the middle tier teams being a threat come playoff time?

I am not sure how to answer that. It is top heavy because Butler and East Meck are so much better than the rest of the conference but I think the middle tiered teams could compete with the middle tier teams from other conferences.

Anything can happen in a one and done format so who knows what will happen but Butler is very solid at every position. Whoever beats them will have to be solid at every position and have depth and conditioning.

East Meck is very strong and will make some noise in the playoffs. Great point guard leadership and a sound starting five.

Independence is much better than expected. They do not have much height, which will limit their potential playoff ability. The new coach has done an excellent job and their teamwork allows them to outperform their talent, in my opinion. They can beat people and will pose a playoff challenge to some teams.

Ardrey Kell is not bad, but their best scorer is hurt. Didn't Ardrey Kell win one of the Christmas tournaments? The injury has dramatically impacted their ability to score (scored only 4 points in the second half against Butler and only 6 points in the 4th Quarter against East Meck).

Myers Park, Weddington and Providence are ok but cannot compete against the big dogs.

South Meck - playing nine freshmen and struggling in a major fashion.

I don't think it is a weak conference - I just see Butler and East Meck being very solid.

Out of conference - watch out for West Charlotte. They can compete with anyone and may prove to be the best Charlotte team in the playoffs. They are loaded and their conference schedule is giving them time to gel as a unit. They will be strong in the playoffs - very strong.
