Watauga had too many defensive lapses against a very good St Stephens team. Senior night at St Stephens for a great group of Seniors. St Stephens showed a lot of class in two games with Watauga and we wish them the best of luck for the remainder of the season. I personally have enjoyed watching Emily, Taylor, Amber, and the rest of the Seniors in our games the past 2 years. Good luck in college ladies!

    Watauga 8
    St Stephens 9

SSHS up 9-1 going to the 6th when Watauga staged a late comeback that came up 1 run short.

Thanks for the insight. We all know about local papers. With the coin toss and tournament coming up, sounds like some good softball on the horizon. When and where is the SWF tournament??? Please post schedule when you have one. :laugh1:

    SWF 3A Conference Tourny

Pairings for the Southwestern Foothills 3A Conference softball tournament next week have been established.

Opening-round games will be played at the higher seeds on Monday. No. 5 Crest will visit No. 4 R-S Central, No. 6 Burns plays at St. Stephens and No. 7 Hickory plays at No. 2 Foard.

The semifinals are at Kings Mountain Tuesday. At 4:30 p.m., the Foard/Hickory winner meets the Burns/St. Stephens survivor. In the 7 o’clock semifinal, the regular-season champion Mountaineers take on the Crest/R-S victor.

The title game is set for Thursday at 7 p.m. at Kings Mountain.

CFBall, I was looking at the state playoff brackets and I do not see a number 3 seed from the SWF conference listed. Does SWF only have two teams going this year? and if so then what importance does this tournament have on those two slots? With St. Stephens beating FT Foard and KM out of the mix does this mean St. Stephens takes the number two slot and FTF is out?

havent looked at state brackets yet......if no #3 out of SWF then the winner of tonite championship game will be the #2 seed for the playoffs and will bump FTFoard out. higher finish in tournament normally determines the number 2 seed .......if my memory is correct!

SSHS has been scratching and clawing after lossing twice to KM this year to get back into the states

CFBall, does Crest have a shot at beating SSHS? I haven't heard much from people on Crest this year....If I read the brackets correctedly the winner of that game comes to Enka first round...
