Tag up rule

    never really understood the rule about having to tag on pop flys.

    imagine a game where baserunners ran like their were two outs all the time???

    My question is, what if the fly or line drive is bobbled by the fielder(unintentionally? Must the runner wait until it is caught, or is it when ball touches fielder or fielder's glove?

    Run Johnny Run....


    The runner(s) may leave as soon as the glove touches the ball even if it bounces out of one fielder's glove into a teammates glove the runner can run the moment it is first touched.

    Otherwise...

    Otherwise an outfielder could juggle the ball while he runs toward the infield and no one could ever score on a sac fly....
