Congrats Taryne you are truly the Athlete of the Year 2007

LOS ANGELES –Arizona softball pitcher Taryne Mowatt capped off a dream season with two ESPY Awards for best female athlete and best female college athlete on Wednesday night at Hollywood’s Kodak Theatre.
The honors came just over a month after Mowatt pitched Arizona to its second consecutive NCAA title and the eighth national championship program history.
Over the course of the season, Mowatt set school records for innings pitched and victories in a season, for which she earned second team All-America honors.
The Corona, Calif., native’s notoriety reached a new level when she hurled over 1,000 pitches over eight games in seven days at the Women’s College World Series. During that time, she propelled Arizona to five elimination-game victories and set records for strikeouts, innings pitched, complete games and victories in a WCWS. For her efforts, Mowatt was named the WCWS Most Outstanding Player.
Other nominees for athlete of the year were Los Angeles Sparks center Lisa Leslie, LPGA golfer and ex-Wildcat Lorena Ochoa and Tennessee basketball star Candace Parker.
Additionally, Mowatt defeated Parker, Tennessee softball pitcher Monica Abbott, Notre Dame soccer star Kerri Hanks and Georgia swimmer Kara Lynn Joyce.

In the audience, Candace Parker looked very disappointed not to have won these awards.

    Disappointment

I agree but I initially thought of it as more of PO.
