    2010 RHP from Lake Norman High / CBC Diamond Rats verbally commited to App. State after having a great visit this past weekend. Great kid from a great family. Congrats to Taylor and I'm sure Mom and Dad are strutting around like proud peacocks....

    The "Dirty Bird" Lands in the Mountains

    Congrats Taylor "Dirty Bird" Thurber. It has been an absolute privilege to have coached you for the past two years. You are an entertainingly unique kid with an Old School make up. I would go to battle with you any day.

    Dan and Lesia Congrats...another Mountaineer in the family. I know how proud you both are of Taylor. You have raised a wonderful son who deserves great things in his future.

    Congratulations to Coach Pollard and the Appalachian Baseball Staff. You have landed one of the top high school pitchers in the state but more importantly you have a great kid coming into your program.

    If you pitch like Greg Maddux...DIRTY! and compete like Mark "The Bird" Fidrych you get a "Dirty Bird" Thurber

    Congrats Taylor. I have know Taylor for a long time and all that he does is win. App State got very lucky getting this fine young man. I know his parents and all of his coaches are proud of him. Hopefully this spring when we play them he will be taking some kind of test so we will not have to face him. Again Congrats Taylor.

    congrats to Taylor "thurburger" Thurber. glad to see another lake norman/ CBC baseball player signed. App stole this one, pretty sure he has more pitches than fingers on his hands. Again congrats to the thurber family. Make the Lake Norman/ CBC alumni proud!
