Thanks very much, guys. Like it is for each of you, it's just a matter of giving a little back.

While I'm at it...even though I'm posting this on the wrong thread...I'd like to add my welcome to "Coach Lew."

Coach, I'm glad you touched on the subject about grades. That was a very good point!

To change the subject for a minute. How many players are you looking for to make up your Team North Carolina? When do you play and when are the tryouts?

How does the average college coach judge a players talent? Most of the coaches are spread so thin, they barely have time to see a player more than 1 or 2 times. Who has the coaches ear? Pro scouts? Do college coaches have birddogs?

Coach, thanks for answering our questions!

Most college "questionnaries" have a line or two for "list scouts who have seen your son play...or list scouts you know". If a pro scout has seen a player, but has not introduced himself to the player or parents, how do you know whose seen them? Do you leave that part of the form blank? Is there an acceptable way to introduce yourself, as a parent, to a scout?

    Thank you again!

By the way, my son is a "pre-select" for the Blue-Grey Classic, but has been assigned to Team Southeast. He was a pre-select last year and played for Team Southeast, but would like to be considered for Team NC. As was the problem last year with the tryouts, his travel team will be playing at East Cobb in the Perfect Game regionals and he will miss the tryouts. Any suggestions?

Coach, my fault!! I was looking at July instead of June's schedule. Sorry! Still, my son will be at Perfect Game's "Sunshine East Showcase" on June 7-8. So we still have the same problem of missing the B-G tryouts.

    HEY TR!!!!

TR, it's great to have you visit our board. For those of you NOT in the know, TR gives us an outsiders perpective of the entire high school to college to pro process and has great knowledge of the selection/recruiting "game".

TRHit is the Consulting Director of College Select Baseball.

    Web Site: http://www.collegeselect.org

Being from the Manchester, CT region, he brings a perspective outside of our narrow North Carolina view of the world and is a wealth of knowledge.

To TR: Scan the questions posted and jump in. Get your feet wet. Thanks for visiting and POST OFTEN.
