    Olen did a great job. Glad he was able to show some fire even though it felt like it was about 10 below at the game.

    Then we Pirate Fans finally get to see the boys hit the field. GOOO PIRATES!!! I LOVE me some Pirate Baseball!!!!

    It was great to see Olen pitch so well this weekend. What a great couple of days out at Wingate this weekend!! Two great teams going toe to toe!! By the way, thanks for the camo Wingate hat, "beohj"!! My boy can't wait to be a part of it next year!!

    Bonsy gets a little carried away at times, as Queen of the Trailer Park...errr...I mean Ball Park.

    Am ready for some Pirate Baseball myself. Get a good dose this weekend!

    BTW, howdy Braves! We gots runnin watah Down East now! So nice to take a bath every two weeks now! I feel like one of dem rich fellas you hang around with!:sifone:

    The boys from Appalachian State come down the hill to play at Elon. Friday's game with George Mason, then Saturday and Sunday against Akron. The weather should be better than back in Boone.

    Where's Mincmi with one of those countdown clocks.

    49er's kick off Friday

    The Charlotte 49er's will begin their season on Friday at 4:00 at The Hayes. A four game weekend with a double header on Saturday. Hope the weather will cooperate with us. Need those 60 plus temps we had a week or two ago. 1 more day!!!!!

    What Opening Day Means to Me

    Today is a Dream Come True! For my entire life as a father I hoped for the opportunity that my son could some day play college baseball. From the time he was able to stand we put a turkey baster in his hands as a bat and he swung at nerf balls. After paying all the dues of Rec Ball, Travel Ball, AAU Ball, High School Ball, and Showcase Ball he has the honor today of stepping on a college baseball field today as a player. That is something no one can ever take away from him. I could not be prouder of him as a man as of my wife as his mother.

    I too am ready for the Pirates to take the field!!! Anxious to see how Whitehead adjusts from player to caoch. He is a great individual!!

    I too have the same feelings - today I not only get to see his first game - but two!!! Gardner Webb will play a double header against MD Eastern Shore to get ahead of the weather. Should be great weather today - can't wait for 3:00. We'll see if the hard work has results!! Dreaming of a great game!
