Could not agree more. Daniel is hitting the ball very well. Daniel is on a mission 12 rbi's in only 27 Ab's. Lots of gappers and balls hit down the lines. He has been clutch.

Can't help but posting again. This time it is as a Titan Baseball parent. My Titan son Keith Prowse (Hopewell High) heaved the ball for 2 1/3 innings giving up no hits and striking out 4 giving him, I believe 16 strike outs in 14 innings.
Then my son Daniel Whitecavage (Hopewell High) goes 3 for 4 with 2 singles, 1 HBP and his first college HOME RUN. He had 4 RBI's for the day and threw out a runner stealing. Isn't baseball great!!!

    Titan boys

ssicknsty baseball is great. I'm just thankful to have a son fortunate enough to be on a college baseball roster. We must thank the good lord for what he has done for us and our children. Thanks for the good word on keith. A small correction on the number of innings and K's. He has 15 k's in only 8 and 1 third innings pitched. By the way Daniel still on fire at the plate. Aint secrets wonderful. Inside joke. Knight now 24-7. Maybe Braves can come out to see his fav juco boys play.

I'd love to, plus it would give me a chance to razz Coach Lowe and Anthony. But I can't express how excited I am in hearing the success of Keith and David!!!!

The Real Reason to be Proud

I have viewed this board for years as I have followed young men advance their careers in baseball and have always found this board to be not only informative but positive. I came across this thread several weeks back and have signed up just so I can describe what are my personal reasons to be proud of my sons. First and foremost, we as parents should be very proud and protective of our children as it is our god given duty. Since this is a baseball thread we all should be proud of our children's on field accomplishments no matter how small or large they may be.

I was fortunate to have been raised by a father and mother in Nash County that taught me the importance of not only playing hard, but playing fair and always being a true sportsman. This never diminished my will to win, but made winning more meaningful as I knew I did it the right way and my parents could always be proud of my on field character. I was also very fortunate to have played for coaches like JW Glover at Nashville Middle School, Bob Rhodes (former Olympic coach) at Nash Central Junior High, and Bill Ennis and Wayne Bullard at Northern Nash.

My wife and I like all of you are very proud of our sons baseball accomplishments. I have one son that is currently pitching (converted from catcher his junior year in college) in the Milwaukee Brewers minor leagues and another that is pitching for Charlotte 49ers. They have both been very fortunate to play such a great game at so many levels. Although I hope and pray they can make it to the big show, I know their chances are slim and none as Coach Ennis used to quote. With all that stated, my reasons to be so proud of these fine young men are because of the lessons learned, coaches, friends, and wonderful experiences encountered while playing the game of baseball. These two young men learned something about real life at every practice, game, and season without having the slightest idea how much they were learning. Can anyone tell me where a young man can ever have a better experience or opportunity to learn from coaches like Paul Bard, Brad Bradley, Terry White, Jason Hill, Gary Hill, Ken Vinning, the entire OnDeck staff, college coaches, and Danny Hignight? This list of men are not only very knowledgeable basebll people, but very successful in business and are such darn good men. Although one of my sons didn't play for Coach Hignight he is still treated as one of Coach Hignight's former players. Both of them have formed a great relationship with Coach Hignight's father Chief who has taught them more about life and survival than imaginable.

My proudest moments are when I hear a mother tell me she was nauseated before a summer baseball game and he stopped his warm ups to ask if she was OK and he could help. Or when another baseball mom was stranded on the side of the road and he turned around and came back to volunteer his help. Sure I am darn proud of any and all baseball accomplishments, but I am most proud of the fine young men the game of baseball has helped produce. I hope your experiences with your children, thier coaches, and lessons taught by baseball are as rewarding. The on field accomplishemnts will be in our minds forever, but the lessons learned by children while playing baseball will carry on for generations. I hope all us take the time to thank all the coaches that are working so hard to not only teach our children the game of baseball but more importantly the game of life.

I'd say it's about time you signed up and posted. To read this board for years and not post is.....well....unamerican . Now that you have and based on your wonderful post, I hope you don't take a few years off before your next one----Go Thundering Herds!!!!

...and yes, I feel privileged to have watched your son play baseball. I wish I could have been closer to him because he is a first class young man---on and off the field.
