TBR's 1st GameDay Report EM vs SM

It was a beautiful night for a ballgame and as a Langston-in-training reporter, I wanted to demonstrate my hard hitting, tough questioning writing skills. So here it goes as I remember it.

I checked in with the will call booth and received my Press pass with a little difficulty ( the young lady didn't believe I was Langston Wertz), but after charming her with my basketball knowledge, she let me in.

What a night, I saw all my friends from Myers Park and thought I went to the wrong game: This is how the conversation went.

" RW's what are you doing here?"

" We heard so much about the concessions at SM, we thought we would give it try"

" ok..what do ya think?"

" :applause::applause:"

" only two...you must not have had their Filet topped with crabmeat"

" no Braves, they were out, but the London Broil was pretty good"

" ok...do you want to see the new players clubhouse? "

" Clubhouse?"

With that, I preceeded to escort Rob Wilson and Craig Earl to the new clubhouse with it's own towel boy...and ya gotta be impressed with those MP boys, as they left a tip when we were leaving.

I, then decided it was time to watch some of the game, since there was only 2 innings left. I happened to see some celebrities in the crowd, ( Prepster, Coach Demming, Applejack and the Backstreet boys) and thought I would ask them a few tough questions.

" Prep, do you see any basketball players to interview"

" Braves, this is Baseball"

" I know, but Langston taught me that to gain interest in my article, interview basketball players"

" uh...well...Wilson is pretty tall. I bet he plays"

" Good idea, Prep..thanks"

While looking for Wilson I bumped into Steve Buchanan, Ben's dad.

" It's a great game, isn't it Braves? "

" Yep...did you see those cheerleaders for SM "

" Cheerleaders?...this is baseball, Braves"

" Yep, but this is South Meck baseball"

I don't think Steve understood and so I left him looking for the girls.

It was getting close to my deadline, so I thought I would get one more interview before I left.

I caught Ben Buchanan between innings and thought I would hit him up for one more tough question..trying to impress Langston.

" Hey Ben...do you have time for a few questions?"

" Hey Braves, sure...anything for you"

" Okay....do you play basketball? "

" Hmm...ah...Braves, I'm sorry, Coach Greason wants me"

" Oh..ok..." I left thinking..what a nice kid!!

With the game over, I needed to hurry and post my report. I hurried to submit it to Langston. He said " great job Braves..especially that basketball question..tough, hard hitting, getting to the point! " He left me with this one correction to add

I hope you guys found this to be informative and hope by reading my coming artcles that it will aid you in scouting your opponents...

 

My only criticism of your story is that you forgot to tell us who hit the three-pointer for East Meck.

A point of clarification is required...

Is your report based upon the actual game played last night or a video game simulation?

 

My bad .... I was Brave's spotter .... Fouled going to the hoop.
And he kicked the extra point down the middle of the up-rights.

 

I'm hurt that you would question my professionalism.....

 

I had Langston on my mind.....and it caused me to reminisce...
