Nothing like Strength of Schedule. Maybe next monday's game against Mauldin will help Enka's rpi. Mauldin beat North Davidson and they play Central this coming Saturday before heading to Enka next monday.

 

4A gets nod

CFball, Do you not think Kings Mtn. could beat the three teams ahead of them in the poll ? K.M has hitters,defense, and pitching that can play with anybody on any given night. The 4A schools always get the nod over 3A, I have watched them play and I think teams like Kings Mtn. and Enka ( just to name a few) can hold there on against some of these teams. I know i,m partial here, but i just believe that this team can play, and they do not have a senior on the team. Will never know, until we get a chance to play a few of them. K.M. team would love the chance.

 

of course they can win and compete........several key elements factor in as you stated plus a couple unmentioned ones.

"tournament of champions" is always looking for the next champion in any classification for their early season tournament that CC is now putting on.

CF, Just wanted to get a good response out of the old Coach, LOL! Nothing like getting a good ole conversation going on the 3A, 4A, deal. I think it would be neat to get the top 8 teams together, who ever that may be , to play a good tournament at the end of the year!!!! I think you are doing a great job on the sweet 16. N. Meck does have a good team.

 

Sometimes we do slant the rankings based on school size. I agree with you cfastpitch44 that KM could hang with the big boys. Maybe next year Coach Grayson and Coach Sherrill can get a game in....of course this year is not over yet......

 

good response, questionable but opinion on that is easy. i look at the potential of each team, 1-9 on the field, their experience, leadership and the coaching for each team without the concerns of classification for the TBR Poll.
Playing an end of year tournament without a doubt would be impossible but you have to schedule these type teams and plan this type tournament just for the best teams around our area early in season.
You can forget scheduling Central Cabaruss.........ask your coach why he might not entertain that idea?? Winning a State Championship could change all of that real quick.........maybe???

 

RS Central is a good squad but have been Shutout 3 times by Kings Mtn if i am not mistaken, this year!

could Kings Mtn (3A), East Rutherford (2A) and Cherryville (1A) all be in
Raleigh next weekend??

 

That would be nice to see!!!

 

I think RS scored one run on Kings Mountain, waiting on the KM fans to validate whether that was correct or not.
