The Roberson Rams notched another win last night, but not through success at the plate. It is amazing the luck that it takes to win these first 4 games. The Rams are loaded with hitters who continue to struggle at the plate. With quality hitting instruction, this team would be tearing up the other teams.

Coach Hardie from Watauga is a class act and always has teams that can play with most teams.

    Dang!

Is it just me or are you kind of calling out the coaching of TC? That's harsh. (maybe I misunderstood.)
Any possibility it could be the fault of the guys with the bats - not so much instruction?
Besides, somebody must be doing something right up there - or is it just the talent?
If so, then when the talent doesn't perform, blame the talent.
I could be biased from a coach's perspective. It has happened before; once I think.
Wait - isn't the point to win? Which they did.

Oh yes, Coach Hardee is a good one. That point was right on.

I forgot...coaches are perfect and should never be held accountable. Put it on the teen age kids.

T.C. Roberson has always been one of the best baseball programs in the state. Luck's not involved. Let's see: 26-2 this season, state runner-up last season, western runner-up the year before. In my opinion, winning those close games, dodging those bullets, and moving on, is the sign of a good team and coaching staff..

    Perfect, no.
And we realize that," players win games, and coaches lose them."
It's what we signed up for...

However, with your screen name, ramit, I would assume you are part of the T.C. family - though if so I have chosen poorly with the word family in this case.

    My point/question:
If you are part of T.C. (please clarify if so or not), and your team WON - what the heck are you stirring this pot for? You won!
Oh, wait, excuse me, the team won. The program won. You may not have.

Now, since you remembered what coaches are (perfect), would you please tell me what you forgot parents are?

[By the way, I don't have a teenager, I only coach them.
My oldest is only 8. But when it should be "put on him", it is.
And people say," be easy on him. He's just a little boy!"
But you see, I'm not raisng him to be a little boy - I'm planning on him being a man some day.
Too many people don't "put in on" who it should be put on nowadays.
    Entitlement and Excusatory Society.
    I'm done...]

Im not one to post on these things but feel it is necessary. Last night was one of the best games I have ever been apart of in my short coaching career. The only thing that could made it better was pulling out the win. Calling out Coach Filapek is crazy from getting to talk to him before the game he knows what hes doing and have a vision for where he wants to take his program. I respect the TC program and it was a great pleasure getting to play them. Their team is a class act and Parker Johnson might be one of the best pitchers in NC come next year. Ram it another factor is the pitching for us. Ethan Greene is a very very good pitcher he went at one point in the season 30 some odd innings without giving up a run.

My second post was obviously not seen as tongue in cheek as I meant it to be to catcoach. I know typing does not always come off as meant, so sorry for that.

The original post was made mostly to say how lucky you have to be to get through the first 4 games of this tournament. It does require luck. The Rams are struggling at the plate, and it is not to take away from Greene. TC has struggled with consistency all year. Greene stepped up big a couple times last night when most pitchers would have struggled. In fact, I would never call out a kid to begin. I will call out a strategy designed by men, and I don't think TC hits enough between games. That is an opinion and like ________ everyone has one. Yes, TC has a great tradition and with it comes expectations. I would guess that the coach has very high expectations too. You cannot argue with the tradition and the record, but TC can get better. As coaches, you know the amazing things that have to happen to win the state tournament.

There are 5 sentences in my first post. 2 are critical, 2 are comments on baseball, and the last one was meant to be very nice. Is it possible that any of you have overreacted? If not, I take the blame.

Yes, it is quite possible I overreacted - just ask my wife.

I take my lumps as a coach, as we all do.
I have fans (one anyway; see wife above) and detractors (long line - bring a lunch), but I don't spend much time promoting or defending myself with either.
However, when I see other coaches - or perceive other coaches - being attacked, I sometimes swing. A little more "Peter in the garden" than I'd like to be...
