Lets try to get a rundown of the games coming up. First of all are they going Thursday/Friday/Saturday or Friday/Saturday? Who has the pitching to complete the series? Who has the bats? Don't know much about either team, but it seems like both teams are well coached and very dangerous. Should be an outstanding series.

    two incredibly talented teams.

EF's hitting may not be as strong with just four over .300, but they crush it when the bat connects. They're free swingers with a lot of strikeouts - this works for them though and may match up well against TC, which keeps the ball in the strike zone. A lot of clutch hitting - they don't leave many on base and get their RBIs so they're able to score when needed.

Game starts at 7 p.m. Friday at EF. Second and third if needed would be Saturday. No time set.

    The difference will be...

... East's 9 seniors (many playing 3 years at varsity level) who know how to play and produce - and BELIEVE they will win. Not a shread of arrogance, but confidence.

... and PITCHING. Two guys in particular who make pitches. They throw any of three pitches in any count for strikes, or not for strikes - which oddly is better at times.

[OK, a 3-4 hour bus ride might matter a little.]

I've always been told that good pitching beats good hitting. I know East has two very quality arms and TCR has 9 very quality bats, so I guess we will see if the statement holds true.

in high school, if it goes to game 3, seems like hitting will determine it because of the lack of pitching depth teams generally have at that level.

just saw on the high school huddle blog - www.citizen-times.com/hshuddle that they've sorted out the schedule for sat. looks like one of those day-night doubleheaders like the pros do.

heard the weather could be a problem for Friday night like it was previous Friday.

Biggest thing about TC is the lineup never lets up. From 1 thru 9 they can all hurt you as a lot of teams have found out. Pitchers never have a chance to lose even a little concentration cause the hitters just keep coming. If East has two good pitchers it should be a good matchup.

TC got real lucky getting past those big bad 4A Charlotte teams. Must be some smoke and mirrors. Maybe they will win at least one this weekend.

Haha......Muddy trying to stir it up. I guess we'll see how they do away from friendly confines.
