Team Chemistry

If you have alot of new players joining your team. How important is team chemistry? What are some ideas to promote chemistry? We have girls from a wide area ( 1-2 hours apart) We dont practice much during school ball because mostly all of our girls either practice or play 6 days a week.Plus i always fear burnout with a 18u team. Any ideas? This board is one of the best softball boards on the web because it is very informative. while most boards only deal with childish behavior

 

Years

We draw kids from Greenville, NC to Sylva NC, and from Florence SC to Danville Va, in fact one of our teams a couple years ago had 14 girls from 13 different HS and it was one of best teams ever as there were no clicks, no issues, they all bonded because they all were new, so to speak. This years team is much like the example pointed out and has bonded well, belief it or not some girls want to get away from drama of playing locally.
Now, do not tolerate clicks, be open with all the girls, treat them with respect and look for their hot buttons and motivation conduct and you will be just fine. Also, pick kids carefully to avoid the problems ahead of time.
