Can anyone shed some light on this....future tryouts(already had one conducted by Global Baseball in Concord), coaches involved with the team, when final selections might be made, schedule they might play after formed, cost involved, etc. Who are the people involved with Global Baseball? Sounds like a good endeavor in putting together a team of the best 16's to represent NC at the Jr.Olympic Championship to be held end of July. Really appreciate any info that can be shared here.

I can't figure out who Global Baseball over in Concord is.....

I'd sure like to know some names of some of the people involved.

When did these invites go out?
Did the invites go out directly to the players or to the coaches to pass on?
I heard the Diamondbacks probably would break up after this past fall season....could it be that most of these players are on
    "Team NC"?
    Back to Global Baseball????
    Who are these people?
Can anyone give firsthand info on tryouts because they were there(Concord) on N0V 8-9?

The invite was for players 16&U. My son got an invite, he is still 14 playing with the 15&U Copperheads team, mailed directly to him. I discussed this with others and several of his team mates were invited as well. I discussed it with a couple of the dads on the 16&U Copperheads and several of those got invites. It appears to me the invites were issued out of Concord to various AAU players in NC. Our coach said he did not have any input into who was invited.

My son has a broken hand so he didn't attend. The son of a friend of mine, from the 16&U Copperheads, said he was going to attend. I will see if he did indeed attend and, if so, try to get some feedback.

It surprises me that invites would be sent to players on 15u teams...this is not to say that the 15u age group in NC is not another age level of very talented ballplayers...only that I have read on these message boards that the 16u age group on NC travel teams is brimming with talented players. This being the case there should be more than enough 16's to make a powerful team to represent NC.

Does anyone know who the coaches involved with this team are?

information was listed in the paper in concord. they called it an open tryout showcase. the cost was around $175 if i remember correctly. i may have the wrong idea, but it appeared to me to be yet another money making event for the aau program in concord.

yes, they did go directly to the players, my question is if that global baseball wanted to make a very competitive team to compete in the JR. OLYMPICS why in the world would they invite 15U players to compete in a 16U program? it just doesn't add up,

yes the diamondbacks are breaking up as far as i know after this fall, but a few of the players got invites to tryout.

    Going Yard,
If that is the case, that's ashame!
I thought with USA Baseball headquarters in Durham now, someone very interested in promoting NC ballplayers, had the idea that it would be a great year to form "Team NC" which has the potential to show strong at the championships and possibly have players invited to tryout at a later date for the Youth National USA team. There are other states that put together their best to represent their state at these competitions so why not NC. But the info gathered so far doesn't indicate that is what is happening. This appears to be a prime opportunity for NC to show that this state produces ballplayers that can compete with Fl, TX,GA,etc.. and get respect. I know here and there NC teams have brought home the gold from various age groups but it would be nice for NC to be considered right in there with Fl,Ga,Tx as top contenders in any competition they go to.

Do you know who Global Baseball is?
If you know someone who went to tryouts could you find out? Was it made known during tryouts what people are involved with this org.?
Also, Dynasty07, are any of the Diamondback coaches the ones taking this team?

Lots of questions? I know someone knows the answers especially since most of the TBR posters are in the western part of state....we from the east need to be filled in!

Thats a nice thought and all but I'm not sure that NC is quite ready to compete on a level with Florida,Texas, California, and Georgia yet. Especially if they are sending 15 year olds to do ther biding for them. Maybe in five years or so but for now I don't see that happening. Those places have too much talent to pull from. But I do agree that it would be a good idea to get something like that started in the state. It could only help.
