Notes: Fred Long (SR/ 1B) is a 2 tme All Conference Player (Soph, JR) Jacob Newton was All Conference as a DH last year. Robbie Byrd (Soph RHP) is a young player to watch, he will probably develop into our ace as the year progresses.

Burns Bulldogs

No one is talking about the Bulldogs from Burns, and I dont know why, they have a great roster and can contend for a top spot in the state. They are 7-2 (1-1) with losses to Ashbrook (1-0) and Hickory (3-1).

Seniors
*(P,3B,1B)-Tyler Trice (UNC signee, has a great fastball (86-88mph), slider and changeup who is a streaky hitter)
*(CF,P)-Jamie Ray (ECU signee, 4 time varsity starter, is hitting close to .600 with 3 homeruns and can steal on any pitcher catcher duo in the state)
*(LF)-Josh Izokovic (Leading the team with 4 homeruns and 14 RBI's, great defensive player)
*(C)Michael Vinesett (An outstanding defensive catcher who can hit well)
*(P)-Kyle Elliot (A submarine specialist who is real effective in getting ground balls and pop flies)

Juniors
*(P,SS)-Josh Drewery (Has pop on his fastball and can hit a mile, also a great shortstop)
*(P,1B)-Chris Cook (A talented 1st Baseman who hit about .450 last year, and is having a successful year so far)
*(2B,SS)-Dustin Garver (One of the smoothest infielders around and can hit well)
*(RF,C)-Tyler Watts (A very streaky hitter with a good outfielder arm)
*(2B,DH)-Johnathon Walker (A fast runner with a good bat)
*(3B)-D.J. Hamrick (Doesn't hit, but some of the fastest hands around)
*(CF)-Ben Downs (A smart baserunner who is unlucky that Jamie Ray is ahead of him)
*(P,3B)-Wayne McDonald (A sidearmer who has a nasty slider and pop on his fastball)
*(C)Will Carswell (Backup catcher with potential, can hit very well when called upon)

I'm telling you, watch out for those Bulldogs. They have got Ashbrook next week, it should be a great game.
