Well here it is....after 10 years of TB my DD's very last game is today! Wow....what do we do with our lives now? Just want to thank all the people who we have been blessed over the years to get to know. Started with the Spinners when she was 8 and there weren't as many organizations around..challengers, hurricanes, bombs, dominators, pitt co rockets. Then the AWESOME team of SW Storm....boy that team was not only awesome but the parents were the BEST of the Best and what bonds were made. Now she's ending with Triangle lightning. I just can't believe how fast it has gone. Thank you everyone for the memories and the friendships we have made over the years!!! Softball is a wonderful sport with great community support. Hope to see y'all at some college games....Oh and btw....maybe we can now affort that boat we have always wanted....hahaha.

    Thanks and God Bless!

Yeah it is one heckofa good ride....

Yes it is one heckofa good ride, isn't it? It is so great to look back over the years, the miles and the memories and think OMG where did the past 10 years go? This has been the first summer that our DD didn't play tb since 1999, WOW! We still want to go to the ballpark and watch games! We truly miss it! Not so much sitting in 115 degree temps, or sitting in torenchel pour downs, or dodging and ducking from foul balls from the next field, (LOL) but the experience, yes! We miss our DD being in 8U and being the homerun princess, and her being the new pitcher on the block, when she was 12 and being untouchable for a while! Everything changes!
You are right you make a lot of wonderful friends along the way! It is worth every horrible hotel room, every mile traveled and every memory made!
Does anyone else from the Craze days (Purplehaze), remember the South Sea Resort in Myrtle Beach! LOL, I think it is possibly the worst hotel on the east side of this country! The DD still has nightmares about it to this day! LMAO But we didn't let it stop us from having a great time the hotel next door was great!! LOL
It is just another step in the journey, remember the past, live in the present and look forward to the future!

The one memory of NC travel ball I will never forget is this one coach kicking a bucket after a game. It was the funniest site I had ever seen to see what seemed like hundreds of softballs bouncing around the dugout. Totally priceless!!!!!!!! :clapclap::rotflmao:

Oh yes memories that made us laugh...

One day at a tournament we were walking to the parking lot, to rest awhile and wait on our next game, when a coach for another team had just been ejected from the game and had to go to the parking lot. We were parked where we could see this coaches vehicle and trailer. Moments after he got to his trailer, stuff starting flying out the rear of the trailer. Lawn chairs, buckets, bats, hitting sticks, balls, bat bags all were just zooming through the air, into the weeds behind the parking lot! Needless to say this coach was a tiny bit mad!
We sat there watching this and just laughing our tails off!! It was quite entertaining!! Not laughing at this coach because he was mad, just laughing at his behavior while he was mad! Made our time between games sorta seem shorter.
Oh yes and then there was another coach who got ejected and had to leave the park, so he and one of the parents went to a hill beside the road, running along the side of right field, leading to the parking lot! We were still playing our game and every now and then, we would see their hats pop up over the hill, to see what was going on. This coach would use his nextel phone to call the assistant coach, and tell him things! That to this day is one of the funniest things I have ever watched at a softball game! They looked like they were on some sort of stake out or something! We all just rolled laughing everytime their heads would pop up over that hill! Then the assistant's phone would ring!
Just a couple more extremely fond memories, from this game we all so love, softball! This thread just really got me to remembering, thank you for starting it!

    Precious Memory

I was reminded this weekend of an award I used to give during the Grand Slam/Challengers annual softball fundamentals clinic. This award was made in memory of Amanda Dare Clifton of Wake Forest/Rolesville High School who was killed in a senseless automobile accident. Amanda had a love for life and softball. Everyone who knew Amanda loved her. She had a "smile and spirit for life that will live in our hearts always!"

The "Most Spirited Student" award was received by Landon Warren in the 2001/2002 clinic.

Her Dad says that award is still displayed prominently in her room.

Thank you so much!! You don't how much that means to me!

Amanda was such a wonderful person! And everyone who knows Landon knows how wonderful she is, also.

Now I'm off the the thread....go figure!...... Memories?...hhhmmmm?
One of the best was LW 4 yrs old, I'd tell her to choke up on the bat, and she'd look at the bat and cough!!!

Posting memories is a cool thread....I'll start one! Fishman.
